In the Twilight hours... :)
Aahh… ‘Twilight’. My apologies for not being able to watch it earlier.
Given the kind of critic I am or tend to become even before the movie seems to end (you can ask my friends if you don’t believe me :P), I had thought that this would again be very similar to the approach I generally took while watching a movie. One of the major reasons contributing to it was the consistent, persistent and recurring nudging I had gone accustomed to by now. Just to let you know, I am not at all a movie buff. So, its very difficult for me to catch a few hours out of my busy schedule just to watch a movie :P :P ( I know, I know, an exaggeration, but keep it to yourself, please :P). Many of them suggested me to watch ‘Twilight’… “it’s supposed to be really good.”, “watch it for the scenic beauties.”, “the concept is absolutely riveting!!!!”. But none of these reasons was ever going to fetch me a chance to watch this movie except for the one which followed while i was in a class studying... :P – “Cedric Diggory is the vampire in the movie…!!!!!!”. “Excuse me, THE Cedric Diggory?!?!? He is a WHAT in the movie??!?” yup, yup.. this is what we actully do in a class when we are supposed to be studying the most. This is where I got the real enthu to watch the movie. In case, you are not familiar, which you might just not be, taking the kind of inexplicable hatred people have for the ‘Harry Potter series’, Cedric Diggory was a man/boy of an exceptional intellectual promise. He was one of the Hogrwart’s champions in the TRIWIZARD tournament (the other being Harry himself). He was brilliantly the most sought for guy throughout the book. And unfortunately, Harry’s rival in the two most important ways:
- He was competing with Harry in the most perilous tournament of all ages, The Triwizard tournament.
- He was paired with Cho Chang, Harry’s senior, for whom Harry had the hots.. ;)
I hope he is as clear as a crystal to all those who have read and followed the book religiously.
So, ‘Twilight’ is a story of a vampire family striving to make a place for itself amidst the commoners of today’s world. This family is immortal, by the way, and has had its share of life only too many a time. Robert Pattison, our good old “Cedric Diggory” from the Harry Potter series is a part of the family. He falls for a human girl just because he is unable to read her mind, which is quite unlikely for he has powers with which he can intrude anyone’s privacy of mind. The girl, who is also in the same position as his, tries to find out why he acts in such an abnormal fashion, and what it is that makes him so strong. Making a chain, joining all the links in their correct places, she discovers the horrifying truth that follows his life- He is a vampire. Following this, there is a perfect cascading of their beautiful relationship and the times they have together, climbing the trees (probably he is also a descendent of the monkeys for he so comfortable climbing trees at a pace even faster than them :P :P) , gliding through the air and so and so forth.
This movie has managed to escape all the criticism I might have held against any.
Based on a novel by Stephenie Meyer, this movie has got many more sequels which are yet to be released and are still in production. And for once, I am all too keen and in waiting for them to be released J J.
Probably, Ms. Stephanie wanted to voice out a story which made even the grotesque and the parlous of the creatures sound normal and civilly inhabitable. A very fabulous attempt, like our J.K Rowling, who , by all means, is the queen of all such things. She made the magic world seem all the more normal and very much similar to our own muggle world :P :P :P. hehe…
There goes a reason for you to watch the movie. ;) Have fun. :P
